My hip young friend, Cheryl Watson, of Texas Quilting Gal, has inspired to start a blog chronicling my quilting and stitching endeavors. It will double as a stitching journal for me.
This past weekend friends gathered for a quilting retreat at Jordan Ranch in Schulenberg for 4 days of stitching, fabulous food and lots of laughter. It was good to see Mary Beth who had travelled back to Texas from Virginia after moving there last year. I met Geni from www.wonderwomanquilts.com. She was visiting with Shari and brought lots of expertise and creativity with her from Seattle.
I worked on Easter outfits for the three grands and finished all except a bit of handwork and buttons/buttonholes. I had a really hard time finding buttons I liked. I know Buttons and Bows in Houston has a wonderful selection, but I didn't take the time to get there before retreat. I've posted photos on Facebook and Instagram, so I won't repeat them here. I also made a quilt gift for a new great nephew. It needs borders that I had to order. Then I worked on a quilt for me! It will take at least a year to finish because I only work on it when other pressing things are finished.http://quiltsfrommycrayonbox.blogspot.com/
There were several quilts waiting on my longarm when I returned. Monday I quilted baby quilts for my mother to give to a new great grandson, Tommy Ross, and for Pam Clanton to give to her twin great-nieces. No photos as I won't be the one to post them first! I am making labels and applying the binding on both of these. Still yet to do.
On-frame now is a wedding from Nan Dickerson to friends. Again, someone will be receiving a wonderful gift! These three quilts need to be in the mail by tomorrow afternoon I know what my Friday is looking like!
This morning I signed up for my first on-line fabric swap. I'm joining a Kate Spain charm swap hosted by http://quiltsfrommycrayonbox.blogspot.com/ I'm excited to participate. I hope to eventually have buttons, tutorials, and other quilty and stitching things on this blog. So here goes!
